Math REU at Amherst on Arithmetic Dynamics, Summer 2026
Rob Benedetto will be supervising an NSF-funded mathematics REU project
(Research Experience for Undergraduates) at Amherst College
in Summer 2026.
Dates:
Monday, June 8 to Friday, July 31. (8 weeks)
Funding:
$700/week stipend ($5600 total), plus
funds to cover the cost of a campus dorm room and meal plan.
Prerequisites:
Math 350 (or equivalent), and preferably
other coursework in pure mathematics as well, especially at the
300-level or higher.
Eligibility for Funding:
According to NSF funding rules, student
participants must be US citizens or permanent residents, and must
be current undergraduate students during the project. (In particular,
no May 2026 graduates are eligible.) The program is a full-time
commitment (40 hours per week).
